Do you tip taxi drivers in Turkey?
Short answer
Round up
Round up the metered fare.
OptionalCash preferred
No percentage is expected. Round up to a convenient note. Locals tip a driver only when they carry luggage to or from the car. Insist on the meter, refusing to run it is the most common tourist scam in Istanbul, and consider using BiTaksi or Uber, which dispatch metered taxis and let you pay in-app.
