Do you tip housekeeping in Austria?
Short answer
€1–2 per day
€1–2 a day, left in the room.
OptionalCash preferred
Not a strong Austrian habit in city hotels. In a ski chalet or a family-run Pension on a week's stay it is more common. Leave it at the end for the team, or daily in a hotel.
Cash or card?
Card is widely accepted, though smaller mountain huts and rural Gasthäuser are still cash-only more often than visitors expect. When paying by card, state the total including the tip before the server enters the amount.
