Tipping ski instructors is not a French tradition and plenty of local families leave nothing, but it has become normal among international visitors in the big Alpine resorts. Twenty to fifty euros per person at the end of a week of ESF group lessons is the usual range, given on the last morning rather than daily. For private lessons, around 10% of what you paid.
