Boat & yacht charters · Croatia
How much should you tip a yacht crew in Croatia?
Short answer
5–10% of the charter fee
5–10% of the charter, handed to the skipper for the crew.
CommonCash preferred
Croatia is one of the world's biggest charter destinations and the convention is well established: 5–10% of the base charter fee at the end of the week, given to the skipper to share with the crew. On a bareboat charter there is no crew to tip, though a hired skipper or hostess is usually tipped at that rate. For a day trip to the Blue Cave or Hvar, €5–10 per person is normal.
In practice
- A €5,000 week-long crewed charter → €250–500 for the crew
